Experienced Leadership for a Stronger Muskoka
My connection to Muskoka runs deep. My family has been part of this community for four generations, dating back to 1965, and those roots have shaped my appreciation for everything that makes Muskoka special. As a proud member of the Muskoka Lakes Association since 1965 and a full-time resident since 2018, I have experienced firsthand both the traditions that define our region and the challenges that come with its growth and change.
Because I have been a seasonal cottager and year round resident, I understand the unique needs of both. I know how important it is to preserve the character, natural beauty, and sense of community that make Muskoka such a remarkable place, while ensuring that local families, businesses, and visitors can continue to thrive. My commitment is to represent every voice and work toward practical, balanced solutions that protect what we love about Muskoka for generations to come.
I served on the 2018-2022 Council and chaired the Planning Committee. My commitment to Muskoka and preserving the natural beauty and therefore protecting the environment is my top priority.

Barb Bridgeman Is Ready to Serve the people of Muskoka
Barb has the experience, dedication, and commitment to listen to residents, bring people together, and make thoughtful, balanced decisions that strengthen our community.
KEY PRIORITIES
Environment First – our natural beauty draws visitors from around the world and makes Muskoka a unique place, we need to protect and preserve it.
Responsible Development – the unique Muskoka landscape must be preserved, this includes both residential and commercial properties.
Affordable Housing – by establishing affordable housing, Muskoka can entice the people needed to keep our economy running and keep our residents from moving to a more affordable area. For our seasonal residents, this means being able to find service and trades people who are now in short supply.
Fiscal Responsibility – rapidly increasing taxes must be curtailed, this applies to both Township and District budgets.
One Community – listen to all viewpoints, support vulnerable residents, and collaborate respectfully with Council for the benefit of our community.
Testimonials
“We are pleased and motivated to support Barb Bridgeman, someone we have known for 48+ years, as District Councillor in Ward C/3 of The Township of Muskoka Lakes in the 2026 Municipal Election. Having spent almost her entire life as either a seasonal or permanent resident, Barb will bring depth, passion and integrity to her role as District Councillor as one of the most fiscally responsible persons we know. This coupled with her desire to see a Muskoka focused on controlled growth and maintained natural beauty makes her the ideal candidate for Township District Councillor”
